David K.T. Mureeba, Chief Executive of EAP&E and Susan Skorburg, Chief Program Officer met with Gregg P. Coffin, Director University of Missouri and Superintendent - The MU Power Plant and Kenneth R. Davis Sr. Assistant Director of Energy University of Missouri key to MU’s renewable energy program. Locally supplied woody biomass is used to create steam through its stoker boiler system. The steam is used to run MU’s high efficiency CCHP system that creates sustainable electrical and thermal energy. A photovoltaic (PV) panel array and a wind turbine also contribute to campus energy production.

David K.T. Mureeba, Chief Executive of EAP&E and Susan Skorburg, Chief Program Officer, meet with Dr. Andrew Scaboo at University of Missouri’s Bay Farm Research Facility. Topics include soybean research, including soybean breeding for variety development, genetic diversity, disease resistance, flood and drought tolerance, and improved seed compositional traits, farming techniques, equipment, cultivation and harvesting methods.

Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority (NELHA) located in the Big Island of Hawaii administers the Hawaii Ocean Science and Technology Park (HOST Park). Hawaii Aquaculture, biofuel from algae, solar thermal energy, solar concentrating and wind power are some of the 40 tenants. Susan Skorburg visits the Big Island to take a closer look. More.
